I would go with something like a Jellycat bunny , nice blanket or a gift card for somewhere like NEXT where they can choose outfits of their own style .
My 1st years website also has some nice gifts |

How about some nice toiletries for the mum?
I’m sure the baby will receive lots of gifts but I’d be nice to treat the mummy too x x |

Agree with Jellycat toys, a favourite childrens book or a set of 0-3 babygros from Next. You can't go wrong with any of those.

I found everyone buys 0-3 month outfits so tend to buy a six month outfit as I found that was when mine suddenly seemed to grow out of everything ! Just need to count forward to make sure it's season appropriate.

For someone you know due to your own sad circumstances, could you give the baby something that meant something to your own daughter? I don't mean something of hers, but something with her favourite character on it perhaps?
That way, you're sharing your daughters love to another generation and linking it to a happy occasion. It's a bit melancholy, but it has really helped our family with our grief. Best wishes to you, hope you find the right answer for you. Joa
