who got the best out of this deal - me or virgin?
having been quoted via email £197 for a seat for my infant in premium economy.. I phoned to confirm booking..
immediately put through to UK centre where I could tell that something was up.. was then told that the email was incorrect and that I needed to pay £500 + 197 upgrade price each way.. giving a total of over £1000 for a seat for my 1 year old daughter... I was polite and calm and questioned this price after beng quoted in the email... humming and haughing .. and several periods of hold later.. the lad told me that they were willing to do a deal with me.. in the end i agreed to pay the 197 x 2 and they waived the rest.. should I have held out for the 197?.. |

I wouldve, failing that dont book it. They are like retailers, they hav to sell it you at that price as yo have it in black and white if they fail to sell it you, go to the travel onbudsman they may have waived the lot and just done em at the first quote

I would have to disagree with you, they would not have to sell at the 'offer' price, they can withdraw it at any time. But I think you got the better part of the deal.

Haggis71, I think you suspect you got a good deal
And I agree. A seat for my 18month old in BA World Traveller cost that.

I think Haggis71 has got a good deal. They thought they were going to lose the whole sale, so gave him a good price to seal the deal. Looks like a bargain to me! |

average price for a pe return is £850, a child would pay 67% of that price normally.
You got a good deal! and they certainly could sell that seat at full price if it is a 747/400 if they didn't they would use it for an opup for a flying club member so they could sell another economy seat and getsome good pr |
