Xmas stock in shops already?

I was in town in the week and the works have a small xmas section already and some where else (can't remember) did too. Then I saw the post about the disney store and it made me wonder whether other people think its great or that it is too early?

I love Christmas but it does seem to be appearing earlier and earlier each year and I do feel it kind of takes some of magic away and leaves people feeling a bit fed up about it by time it actually get here.
I do shop all year round and make plans but I'm kind of leaning towards 5 months of it in the shops is a little much -

Difficult question. I did think that Selfridges opening its Christmas shop up today "in time for Christmas" was a little much. It did prompt me to look online at their stock and decide that even if I had the money and was there I wouldn't buy anything (not my taste).

I don't have a problem with smaller displays, though. I was happy to see that there were some Disney Store decorations out as I will only get to the Disney Store next month and am very unlikely to visit another before Christmas (and do not like buying decorations without being able to see and feel them).

I am feeling christmasy at the moment but normally do in summer! We've been singing the 12 engines of Christmas with my little one for the past month. If I worked in retail then I am certain that I would feel differently.

Craft shops often start selling Christmas supplies in July for the many crafters that are organised enough to make their own cards, ornaments and pressies. If I make any at all they are usually cobbled together sometime in mid-December.
