California Trip advice please
So I think we have decided now in our next trip as follows
San Diego Anaheim for both Disney parks Hollywood Universal Monterey Yosemite San Francisco Any idea if it makes any great difference where we start in terms of flight prices, car hire etc ? Also not sure if you do the parks first week or second Anyone done similar? Thanks as always Dibbers Edited at 02:50 PM. |

The first question would be, how many weeks? I would certainly want 3 weeks to cover that much.
Second would be when? At Easter it can be marginal on snow etc if considering Yosemite. Third. What order of travel? Many prefer a N to S when travelling between LA and Monterey. As you are driving on the right, it means that your view of the sea is unobstructed by oncoming traffic. Whatever you do, this really is the most fantastic vacation. It is a very personal view, but for us, the sights and experiences outweighed the theme of parks. On our next one (next Easter), there will not be even be any theme parks... other than 6 flags if you are in to big rides. No1 Highlight? San Diego.

Thank you. We are going end of Oct next year for 2 weeks. Plan was 3 days San Diego, 2 days Disney, 2 days Hollywood, 1 day Universal, then 1 day Monterey, 2 days Yosemite and 2 days San Francisco

Hi for your trip you may have some problems with yosemite depending on when the snow starts, but would definately try and go as it's a fantastic place.for the rest of your trip lots to do and see in all locations. As for flights it's usually cheaper to fly in and out of LA and this also may help with car hire prices. Have a look at historical dates for tioga pass opening and closing dates, normally nov but as early as mid oct.

You would want to start north to give yourself the best chance of doing Yosemite. Plus the drive south is nicer.
This gives you an idea of the dates the pass can be closed from google/url?sa=t&sour...mAIrRnoqIVHdfx |
