Benefits/hints tips of Disney annual pass

So I bought an annual pass

But I probably did not use it to the best of its ability.

Only thing I did use it for is the included parking.

Going back in May. What do I need to know to help me or save me money.

What I know is that I get a free magic band- have no idea what I am supposed to do to get that ordered or ready for May.
Also know that I can only book 7 days worth of fastpasses at a time 30 days prior to first visit but these don’t need to be consecutive.

Anything I’m missing or that I got wrong?

You can pick up your magic band at Magic Kingdom guest relations.
We save lots on purchases from the stores inside the parks. 20% discount. Also save lots on meals at the restaurants.
We booked a week in May as well and got good discounts on rooms.

Finally we loved our magnets at food and wine and flower and garden and also the free pass holder chopping board at food and wine last year. This year it is a set of wooden coasters.
If you check the WDW website they have a passholder page and a seasonal Mickey Tracker which details all passholder offers etc for the upcoming period.

Agree with WDW365, you definitely need to be showing your AP in shops and restaurants/kiosks to receive your AP discount. You get 20% discount in park shops and the Disney shops at DS (World of Disney etc), the discounts in non-Disney shops at DS varies. Most restaurants & food outlets offer 10% discount, again many DS restaurants also offer AP discounts.

We saved a significant amount of the AP upgrade cost during our May holiday - which may suggest I have a shopping problem! We're returning next April, staying offsite so should save even more with parking, shopping & food.
