Guaranteed status experiences

I've currently got 2 connecting staterooms booked in Cat. 4D. on deck 6. I usually book 5E, but the only 5E rooms available are at guaranteed status.

Can anyone tell me what your experience of booking guaranteed is please? Did you get the room category you wanted or were you upgraded? If booking 2 rooms were you still put in connecting rooms or split up?

TIA for the help!

Booking GTY will not ever guarantee you connecting staterooms Iím afraid.
We have done GTY on a few occasions and upgraded once out of category and a couple of times within the same category (C to A for instance so just same category but in Ďbetterí area).

You must be 100% happy to take a cabin anywhere though if you book GTY, so if youíre bothered about being near a laundry, or under the public deck, donít do it.
