Adding people to Fastpass party

We are due to start our fasspass planning next week and have a query. We have booked to go as a family of six including my mum and dad, but recently my dad was admitted to hospital and was found to have an infection on a heart valve leading to needing intravenous antibiotics for the next four weeks. It has led to a leaky heart value and we are just waiting for the go ahead from the doctors as to whether he can travel. It is looking positive at the moment.

Anyway he has decided to hold off on getting the theme park tickets until completely sure. That means that we will only be doing the fast passes for four people in a party. If he gets the tickets after this but before the trip starts, can the additional party members be added to the existing fastpass?

Would prefer someone more knowledgeable to answer this but just wanted to wish your dad well.

your main issue will be availability

MDX will allow you to copy over FP+ from one person to another person
but in order to copy a FP+ there will need to be FP+ slots available for that additional person, for the time period you have booked your own FP+

that should not cause issues for a fair number of rides, but that will be close to impossible for some rides like FoP, or the Tier 1 rides at DHS and Epcot

it will also depend on when the decision is made
your signature says you're in a villa, so I assume you'll make 30 days out FP+ there will already be ride that will be hard to get. For those there is almost 0 chance you get a *mirror* FP+

As previously said, some rides are already hard to get at 60 days, and even more so at 30.
There is always a chace to catch an odd FP+ a few days before arrival, as some people cancel or change their FP+ but then it's a matter of luck, but in your case you would also need to have that lucky FP+ for your own one hour return window. So that even adds more difficulty

what I would do, is try to get as many FP+ as possible by mirroring your own.
then for those you don't manage to mirror, try to get an individual FP+ for an overlapping return window. It's often easier to find a FP+ for 1 person than for a larger group

you may not get every FP+ in common

next, what I would do, is once in FL, go to a guest relations like in Disney Springs, explain the issue, and they might copy over your FP+ to your Dad (but don't take this as a guarantee)

but in any event, I'd try to book the FP+ (copy) as soon as decision is made. Just bear in mind that you may not manage to copy over all of your FP+

Just wanted to wish your father a speedy recovery and hope you all have a fantastic holiday.

I think the advice above is great and I could not add anything further

As long as they are linked to your mde you can choose to change your party once you have booked fast passes, you can add them to your party and it will check if there is availability at your slot or may offer you a different time slot much like modifying you can cancel out of it if nothing suits and it just retains your original booking. I’ve just been playing around with mine to try and maximise our fp use as we will need to parent swap aswell
