Online check in for Alamo when pre paid
I've just done online check in for our car for next week and although I've prepaid it showed an amount due at the counter.
I assumed that this was just generic and that my pre paid amount would cover this so completed check in and moved to skip the counter. I've gone into that and it still shows an amount due at the counter and wants card details. Is this right? I thought it would want card details as a guarantee anyway but the amount due being shown has thrown me. I can't remember what it showed when I did it last year after having prepaid. Hoping someone can put my mind at rest please. |

It does this sometimes so don't worry. But if you have a barcode on the OLCI confirmation I wouldn't do the Skip the counter process so you know then you can't get hit for more money.
Any issues are ironed out at the exit barrier. Triple check the paperwork they hand over shows zero.

Thanks Tom, there wasn’t a barcode so I’ve done skip the counter. The email confirmation doesn’t show anything to pay but the prepaid details is just showing a dollar sign.
Really don’t want to bother going to the desk so I’ll just print the original confirmation to take with me should there be a problem. |

This happened to me with a car seat recently. Also to my friend who had a separate booking. Seems for car seats it shows a fee until car is returned. But check on return and goto garage customer services if any out standing balance. They know it is an issue.

We had this with our booking last year.
I emailed Alamo before travel. Who confirmed it was prepaid. I printed the confirmation. I printed our original booking confirmation showing pre payment. I printed our credit card statement showing we'd paid. Took it all away in case needed at the gate. But they told us it was all paid as we left. Just made sure our paperwork said 0.00 to pay as we left and took it home to keep once back if needed. But never did. |

Annoying and a pain to have to sort out their technical glitches and causes stress and is time consuming to resolve
