KLM / Delta Amsterdam to Tampa cancelled

Just looking on the KLM website at my flights for 28th September 2020, the leg KL6146 from Amsterdam to Tampa (with Delta) has been cancelled, not sure if this cancellation is due to Covid-19, but seems a bit far out to cancel the flight, does anybody have any info on it?

If anybody else is booked on this flight then be aware, I didn't get any email from KLM or any notification on the KLM app.

Seems like par for the course for KLM.
We booked via them to fly VA on 25th July to MCO - will never book with them again from all the things I have read on these forums.
Just go onto their website - plastered everywhere that they will not be offering refunds for cancelled flights ,just vouchers.
Hope you booked using a CC as that might be the only way of getting your money back

Yeah I saw that its a voucher, which is against EU regs I believe, luckily everything is booked with a CC so can use that as a last resort, it's the Delta flight section that's cancelled, so maybe out of KLM's control?... but I'd rather re-book the flights for next year providing it's free to change, rather than take the voucher... I've flown with KLM loads of times and have always regarded them as a decent airline, maybe this Covid-19 has stretched them too far hence why they are reluctant to offer cash refunds.

At this moment in time, no company wants to refund hard cash.
Their funds will be like sand running through there fingers.

Problem is it's not their cash..it belongs to other people and borders on stealing/fraud as they are not delivering the service they sold.

Just checked my flight for the 2nd of October for the same route and it has also been cancelled

Surely if they have cancelled my flight then I would be entitled to a refund ?

Legally, yes. Unfortunately, travel companies are desperate to hold on to our cash at the moment so many are disregarding the law. KLM have been backed by the Dutch government so I think they are willing to say they don't care about the law right now. CC may be the best option to claw back the payment.

This is so frustrating, I haven’t had ANY notification regarding my flight being cancelled. I can’t afford to just give KLM my money. I need flights, I’ve contacted my bank but I used debit card not CC. So frustrating!

I noticed this yesterday, our July Flight to Tampa has now been cancelled.
it seems no Flight operators are offering refunds now, regardless of Laws etc.
I think its going to take intervention from govt or the EU to clarify the position.
I think if every airline was forced into refunds then they would all go bust, they just don't have that kind of cash floating around.

With it being in July I'm in no rush, but watching what happens with much interest

If I accept a voucher then does that mean that I can’t claim on my credit card should they go bust etc ?
