Shark here also...love it... much better than a Dyson.
I actually paid the final payment on ours today...initial payment then three more from the Shark site. I also got the steam mop.

I’ve just purchased this shark

sharkclean/product/sha...odel-hv390ukt/
It arrives today. I’ve had the same Henry for 13 years, which has served me well. So hoping this shark is just as good!

I was recommended a GTech AirRam by a friend who owns a cleaning company (all her staff use them), I’d given up with Dyson and gone with Shark but it didn’t work out. Best hoover I’ve used, lightweight so good for my arthritis but packs a punch with quality of actual clean.
My Mum still uses an old fashioned ‘Hoover’ which she’s had for many years and is no longer available (belongs in the arc !) weighs a ton but can’t beat it for reliability and longevity.

I've read right through this thread with interest as I also need a new vacuum cleaner as my Dyson is clearly about to die.

I'm looking at both the Shark or a Miele and it has to be suitable to clean both carpet and wooden flooring and be brilliant at picking up dog hair. Will be interested to read reviews from anyone who has purchased either of these brands over the last couple of months.

The downside I can see with the Shark is that it looks very top heavy and I'm not sure it is as powerful as the Miele Blizzard. The downside of the Miele is that the cord is quite short at 7.5m compared to the Shark at 10m... decisions, decisions

My Miele adjusts between hard and soft (carpet, hard floor and my metal grid on verandah and the like) automatically and picks up everything but haven’t tried it with dander as I dont have pets (I would imagine it would as it has an incredible suck) but yes I have to pug it into an extension lead ( but I would also have to do that with a 10 m one as my rooms are big and I hate having to change sockets mid vacuum) which I leave permanently attached to it now when in the utility room

I have had the cordless Shark for a month now.

It has a really good suck and goes seamlessly from Carpet to wood at just a flick of a switch on the handle.
It has 3 buttons on the handle, next to your thumb, on/off, instant boost and wood/carpet.

The power issue is, I understand EU regulated, hence old vacuums suck better than any newer ones. It is what the various vacuums can do with the EU limited wattage that counts.

I have not found the Shark to be top heavy and like detaching the motor part in order to clean my stairs.

Dogs? I don’t know, but it is having no trouble with our moulting cat.

Rating 8.5/10. The battery lasts ages and it works just great, much better than our corded Dyson or our wall mounted battery 06 model. I have relegated the corded one to garage use/ emergency spare and thrown the useless battery one away. The Dust collection bin is a little smaller than I would like, hence 8.5

Hope it helps.

I bought this one in May.

I don’t know what you mean by top heavy? But it is incredibly heavy, I can barely do more than one room without needing to rest.

I don’t have a problem with performance, just the weight of it. I have to really motivate myself to doing any vacuuming these days.
