Mask requirements on the plane for kids

We flew back from Tenerife...not a lot of people wearing masks women near me had a drink in front of her for 4 hrs...didnt wear a mask at all... our hulu hoops lasted a little while...≈≈≈≈≈...give the 2 year old a packet or 3 of there fav crisps or biscuits they be fine

When we came back from Jamaica with Tui there were frequent reminders that wearing masks were what we had agreed to as a condition of flight. Of course this only applies to over sixes but the main problem were a group of four young men who thought they were all that and more. Of course as ever they weren't!

Issue is the 12-17 year olds which only get a single vaccine in the UK whereas everywhere else does two. Some countries make an exception for this but the US may not.

Thing to remember with the single dose, is some people 18 and over got the J&J single dose vaccine and will be accepted.

Technically you're vaccinated with one dose, the 2nd dose is a booster to increase antibodies levels and longevity

after working on 'public transport' during the compulsory mask wearing time I feel for the cabin crew ... we used to call it 'Whac a Mole' when we did our cabin sweep.
People were just so rude and nasty

The account in this story from Heathrow shows there is clearly inconsistency in how this is being handled. Seems like a lottery.

Guy from work was telling me about his flight to Turkey with Jet 2, apparently lots of drunk people and folk trying to not wear masks despite the cabin crew asking that masks only being lowered when eating or drinking.

Ended up with the pilot coming onto the intercom that he had received notice of non compliance of mask rules from the crew and if this was not immediately rectified he would redirect the flight and those identified as not complying with rules on masks would be put off the flight.

While I think it's terrible what has happened to this family, now it has happened in London, I really hope this story erodes the 'People are just trying to scare you' advice we have had on here.

Prepare for the worst. Hope for the best. If you are travelling with any child over two, and they don't have a medical exemption, prepare for the mask rule to be enforced. As difficult and as common-sense free as it is.
