Cat very unwell

My beautiful Dottie has been in and out of the vets since Friday.

She is 6 years old and has only ever been to the vets for her annual check up and jabs. Couple of weeks ago at her check up the vet noticed her bad teeth were swollen. So she went in to get them looked at on friday and ended up with two teeth removed.

First post OP check on Sunday, the vet said she was dehydrated and to take her home and try her on many foods. I think we have tried over 20 now! No interest.

Rushed her in on Sunday and she was put on fluids, antibiotics and anxi nausea meds. Came home bit perkier but still with no appetite or want to drink.

So back into the vets today. The vet is perplexed why she is like this. They have took some bloods, everything g came back fine thankfully for her kidneys and liver. She wants to keep her over night for fluids and to give her something to make her hungry.

She did say that they have given her too much metacam (I'm not seeking blame, it's a mistake), so wants to flush her system out. And it may be combination of a reaction to medications and the constant stress of vets visits. She is a very nervy cat .

Anyone have any experience of this happening? I feel awful and just want her back home

Luckily this has all been covered by petplan! Which we didnt think dental was but the vet said to check our policy and it was!

Awww... poor fur baby .

When my Bobby lost his appetite (After he had a couple of teeth out ), we tried everything. eventually one day we were eating a Sunday lunch and my dad gave him some chicken with a bit of gravy on it. He wolfed it down and we gave him a bowl full of chicken with gravy and he ate the lot ! he then slowly started back on his normal food.

Thank you, sadly tried them my other two love them! She was fussy before all this. So it's been a nightmare trying foods.

I guess you’ve tried tuna? How about sardines or pilchards, mine go crazy for them. There’s a great Fb page called Bengal Cat Crazy, I’m Admin, you could join and ask for advise from there

Sadly been through all the fish options, plain chicken, different types of canned food, licky sticks, her normal biscuits. Driving me crazy!

She has always been a fussy cat. Only has appaws biscuits. It's really frustrating, I just want to help her

What a beautiful fur baby! Hope she's better soon. Our moggies always seemed to perk up with the truly unhealthy things like cheese, ham and frankfurter!

Our rag doll is super fussy
Doesn’t like applaws, or might in the morning but not at tea time
She’s currently eating Felix soup, meat flavour, chicken beef and fish sardine cod
Not a lot of meat more gravy and it seems to be a bit for now but could be all change tonight
It’s very frustrating I feel your plight out other cat would eat anything!
