Sounds great. The walking is endless but fantastic.

You can easily head across to Trastevere for food. Plus you need to go and try the fried artichoke from mami near the pantheon.

We are booked for Orlando for Feb but if it’s still not happening by then we will be going back to Rome.

Rome is on our to visit list Abby, so I’m looking forward to your trip report.

We are considering Athens for next year as we were going there in 2020 but, obviously, it was cancelled. It’s a close call between Athens and Rome though so your trip report could change our minds 😄

I'm definitely putting Trastevere on my list for eating out. Fingers crossed for your February trip to Orlando.

We really enjoyed our week in Athens, that was an October half term trip too. I'm hoping Rome is similar, lots of fantastic buildings and monuments, along with very tasty food and maybe a glass of wine or two 😉 . I'm really looking forward to it.

Hi,
We’ve literally just today booked Jamaica for 9/10/21, having a big of trouble with understanding the testing requirements, we all had covid in august so don’t want to do the PCR test only LFT, a lot of places are saying they give a fit to fly certificate but the test is carried out my ourself at home, do you know if this would be acceptable? X

Hi

Before our trip i read, then read again and re-read multiple times all the travel rules. I found the visit Jamaica.com website pretty helpful. This states that either a PCR or LFT needs to be taken within 72 hours of departure, but that it had to be performed by an accredited lab. I took this to mean a self administered test at home would not be sufficient. Therefore I booked us into Express Tests at LGW the night before the flight. We had LFT and got the results within 20 minutes.

I'm not sure if Jamaica would make an exception in your case as you've had covid recently, but maybe you would be alright with a LFT as these don't seem to continue to show a positive result after having had covid?

Good luck with your holiday I hope you have a fun trip.

Thank you, it’s a nightmare worrying about the testing as we’ve only had 1 jab so need about 5 tests and to isolate for 5 days but it’s the only time we can go so made the decision to just go for it, once I’m
There with a cocktail in hand I’m sure I will feel the stress was worth it 😩😩

Hopefully all the pre travel stress will melt away when you get there.

It hasn’t been changed yet but we have booked with British airways who told me they will still be flying there as it’s not law, just advice! The rates are dropping and having just had covid we don’t feel the risk is big for us, we’ve had to take out a different insurance package but I would rather this then go somewhere I’m not happy with, we have to go in 2 weeks or not at all so with this, we made the decision to go x
