Who has plans for October half term?

Who’s planning anything for October half term? Either abroad or in Uk. I’m waiting on florida being cancelled so looking for inspiration on an alternative plan 🙈

after our Las Vegas holiday got cancelled we booked a bargain break to Majorca. Ryanair flights from Liverpool 6 nights half board for 2 adults and 1 teen pricey sum of £330 total

Hotel gets great reviews on trip advisor and right on the beach. Cant wait to be sitting sipping a cocktail watching the waves... just hope we get!

Our New York and Mexico trip has been cancelled today so I have spent several hours trying to decided which short haul destination to do after 20 years of long haul. Our first choice was Canada but DS is 12 which stopped those plans.

Currently torn between canaries, Cyprus and Crete. Having done many of the canaries (many years ago) I really wanted somewhere new and having never done Greece and looking at the pictures of the scenery Cyrus and Crete appeal. The only thing stopping me pressing the book button in the weather uncertainty. We are only doing a week and as DS has 2 weeks off looking at the first week with lower prices so we can book flights for Florida when they come out in October for 2022.

Decided to sleep on it and look again in the morning so any advice welcome

After going to Ibiza in August and feeling the whole abroad thing is just too much hassle we’ve decided to stay in this country. We are doing a couple of days in Leeds then 4 in Manchester. Son (15) likes city breaks/sightseeing/museums, daughter (11) likes fun/challenging activities. So we have planned :
Forbidden corner at Leyburn on way down
Day in Leeds, armouries museum, Thackeray medical museum, looking around the city, Ninja Warrior course.
Yorkshire sculpture park on way to Manchester.
Indoor skydiving, chill factor snow park, I’m a celebrity jungle challenge, imperial war museum north, science and engineering museum, Friends cafe in Primark, Boujee pink restaurant, Alchemist Salford Quays.
Then stop off at Bradford science and media museum on way home.
Daughter is actually really excited and looking forward to it more than going abroad (which says something for the queen of pool holidays!)

We were playing with the idea of going overseas to a green list country for eg 3-4 nights but not sure - if the testing is still required it seems a big hassle to test once there and then worry about results and getting home

If the testing is scrapped - is that likely? - then that might encourage us

After cancelling our October Florida trip. We have booked a villa in Menorca, Cala Galdana with Villaplus £1500, flights with Jet2 from Newcastle £500 for 2 adults and 2 children, and a seven seat hire car £240 (Grandparents are joining us). We’re looking forward to exploring the island, walking and enjoying the villa, it’s got a heated pool, bbq, pool table and table tennis. We understand that many of the restaurants in the resort may be closed for the season but we’re a short drive from an inland town where restaurants stay open all year and we’re happy to bbq. Hopefully we’ll make it but we’re insured if not.

We are going to Faro for 4 nights 1/2 term...

spent 2 weeks at home for our summer holiday.. first week a few days in London, then a few days out around the crap weather... all seemed such a waste of annual leave (which i had to take to be fair) so bit the bullet & took a chance booking oct 1/2 term

what will be will ref testing etc etc etc... fingers crossed it gets scrapped between now & then...

We’ve still got Florida booked but expect it to be cancelled.

Have also booked Royal Caribbean Anthem of the Seas from Southampton for 5 days.
