Oh no!

Despite being a Gooner, the guy was a true great. R.I.P Jimmy.
44 goals in 57 Full internationals has never been even approached by an Englishman and his club record was similar, both at Spurs and in Italy.

1957–1961 Chelsea 157 apps, 124 goals.
1961 A.C. Milan apps 12, 9 goals.
1961–1970 Spurs apps 321, 220 goals.
1970–1971 West Ham United 38 apps, 13 goals.

National team

England U23, 12 apps 13 goals.

England seniors. 57 appearances
44 goals.

And as well as that, by all accounts a thoroughly nice guy.

Such a shame remember seeing him play as a youngster and he used to frequent the same pub where we went when at college. Was always pleasant if someone came up to him to ask for an autograph or talk.

What a player, a funny and kind man who battled and beat his demons. Condolences to his family and friends.
Going to watch some his great goals, running through defences at speed with the ball seemingly stuck to his bootlaces.

R.I.P Jimmy Greaves, my distant cousin on my maternal grandfathers side. Never got to meet him although my grandparents almost did at an event which was cancelled at the last minute.
Thoughts are with his close family & friends x

I'm too young to have seen him play but my dad always said he was one of the best goalscorers of all time. Loved Saint And Greavsie. RIP.
