connected to US vpn, now cant post via laptop!

so on sunday i was working on my macbook air. i connected to a US nordvpn node so i could access disney+ US. all was fine.

i come on here to post about something, and get some sort of DDOS/spam protection thing blocking my access to the entire site...

Your IP: 45.144.113.xx is blocked due to high levels of spam registrations
Org: Clouvider Limited Country: USA (North America)

so i disconnect from the VPN and use my normal virgin media IP, and i still get the same error message, but with the different IP showing. i've also tried a UK nordvpn point and get the same again.

i was using chrome on macos when i got the error, but i also get the exact same problem using safari (which i'd never accessed this site with before)

on my work laptop and phone, i can access the site just fine, so it is machine specific. the site worked just fine up until sunday when i changed to a US vpn node.

i thought it might be cookie related, but it also being blocked in safari, which i only ever use for testing sites, or if there are other issues kinda rules that out

any ideas?

It isn't cookie based. So it will be the actual IP that is blocked. Please send me a screenshot via PM with the full IP and I will check it in the system for you.

We actively block around 100 spammers per day. Mainly using VPN's. Without this system in place it would be a nightmare to deal with.

just tried a random nordvpn US address:

Your IP: 185.240.244.30 is blocked due to high levels of spam registrations.
Organisation: DEDIPATH-LLC Country: United States (North America)

and a uk address:
Your IP: 89.238.150.152 is blocked due to high levels of spam registrations.
Organisation: M247 Ltd Country: United Kingdom (Europe)

now, if i connect to those, and then disconnect, access is working, but on sunday when i tried, no matter what my ip (including my home one) it was chucking out that error.

i suspect its all ok now though, as i'm typing this on my macbook in chrome. but yeah, all the error messages today have been from when i connect through nordvpn addresses

You will find a lot of VPN's blocked now. As I mentioned the level of spammers signing up using them will end up with them all blocked.

I has this happen to me a couple of times. No vpn though - I was trying to connect on the train on the way to the Disney event
