ESTA early expiration

Just logged in to check ESTA status, wasn't supposed to expire till 27/1/2022 but now showing expired =anyone else get there's expired early?

Did you get a new passport, or has it expired? The two are linked, so an ESTA will expire 2 years after issue or when your passport expires or is replaced, whichever comes first.

passports are still valid, has happened to both my ESTA and the wifes

Haven't checked mine yet but read that some are bouncing if the middle names haven't been specified on the application.

Can you see the details on your application? Maybe the incorrect passport expiry date has been imputed?

so the ESTAS were issued Jan 27th 2020 -we actually travelled on them in March 2020. They arent due to expire Jan 27th 2022 but when you log in to check status it says expired

Did you complete your API for a flight during lockdown or before the US allowed us in again? For quite a while that was causing ESTAs to be cancelled as we weren’t allowed to go, so completing API triggered an automatic ESTA cancellation.
I doubt it would have said “expired” under those circumstances though.

we are heading back in december but havent done any API or anything- was waiting to see what the entry requirements were. Looking back in my emails we did have one to say our status has changed back at the start of this month. I guess we will see what happens when we re-apply
