Mobile Virgin premium to UC best price

Obviously I'm aware it can vary wildly but just wondered what people had paid to go from premium to UC, was thinking (probably more likely day dreaming) as to doing it on way out to Orlando

We booked PE going out for this April and were emailed about 6 months beforehand asking if we wanted to upgrade for £192, obviously we did this!
It was well worth it but I suppose you cannot always guarantee on getting an offer. Many other Dibbers seem to have got these though.

Oh that would be an awesome price, although we booked thru VH so not sure we would get an email like that?

Was this £192 per person? Even so I would be tempted. I thought UC would be wildly expensive.

Interested in this as well. We're 5.5 months out from our flight and, according to Expert Flyer, UC is empty on our outbound flight, so I'm hoping for a cheap upgrade price. I booked direct with VH though so not sure how it works (or even if I'll get an email like Sue above).

So I booked with VH and never got any email offers. However about 29 days before I could get offers on my phone for upgrades. Originally it was stating £1300 for one way now its gone up to £2900 for one way but I look most days just to have a laugh

I asked VH on a fairly regular basis for the prices though via their online chat and it was usually around the £1000 mark for one way so assuming upper is quite busy

We’re going PE to Washington next month, and I’ve checked the Virgin Atlantic app several times to see what the upgrade cost would be. Today it’s £1211 each, but I have seen it as low as £350. One day I checked it three separate times and found upgrade costs changed each time - on that same day it showed at £370, £580 and £811.

Think the trick is to definitely check the app a lot - one time it just might surprise you!

I've just checked the app and, typically, my outbound tickets are fare code K which you can't upgrade from. My inbound tickets are fare code S which you can upgrade from but I can't see how to check the price in the app. Can anyone give me some pointers please?

I was told once the fares software keeps tabs on people checking and adjust for perceived demand - thats probably why each time you checked on that one day it was a higher price each time.

If you select your inbound flight, then click on Choose Seats, the upgrade price appears in the top left hand corner when you scroll up to look at the Upper Class seat map.
