Drs Letters For Medication

Has anyone taken medication in and got a Drs letter before they went?

Struggling to get one - my Neuro said he'd send me one but he hasn't.
I do have a letter from my last appointment stating my diagnosis and medication though - is this all I need or will I need to make another Drs appointment?

You’ll also need to check the legal status of the medication you’re taking in the country you’re travelling to and any connections.

Unfortunately, it can be a minefield and there have been threads about people coming off their antidepressants as they’re banned in the country they’re going to.

My arthritis medication is supplied on behalf of the NHS by a home healthcare pharmacy and they emailed me a letter to give to customs as my injections can’t go through the X-ray machine. I didn’t ask for it, they offered it when I phoned to ask for my next supply early. I take my normal medication in the original packs with dispensing labels attached and haven’t had any problems or even been questioned. I don’t take a copy of my repeat as I know I can either go without my meds or buy alternatives and it’s not life threatening if I go without.

My medication is approved and prescribed in Japan so I can't see importing it being a problem.

Going to call the embassy today and check if those notes are fine along with the prescription.
