I can never “get my head around” how one man can stab 5 people so quickly. He must be very strong, very very angry and stoked with adrenaline or he’s taken an illegal substance.

A programme on the Met police last night showed a crime scene where someone had been stabbed 14 times. That’s an awful lot of anger and strength.

I hope that everyone’s family or friends working or shopping in that area are safe.

I wondered the same. According to press one man had injuries to his body and another couple to their hands so possibly they tried to stop him?

Not difficult, not surprising. A knife is a great leveller, it gives slightly built teenage kids the power of six-foot plus blokes.

I train and teach MA, and knife defence ain't like the movies; parrys, blocks, wrist-locks, limb control are largely nonsense outside of a choreographed fight scene.

The only defence against a knife guaranteed not to get yourself cut is run away.

The 21' rule is employed by armed police when facing a knife for a reason.

"It's believed at least one of the stab victims was attacked outside a branch of Starbucks Coffee in the Arndale Centre."
