Stabbings in the Arndale Centre

The police response around Manchester was amazing. We were at the Trafford Centre today and by lunchtime there were armed police at every entrance and patrolling the mall. Some of the police vehicles had North Wales police markings so clearly a co-ordinated regional response.

Thats very reassuring. The videos on the news of people locked in shops while unarmed police sprint to where people have been stabbed, not knowing what they were running to, makes me incredibly proud of our police forces. Absolute heroes they were today.

It's sad, awful and scary, well done to the police and emergency services & thinking of those who were injured in the attack.

I'm off to MEN Arena tomorrow to watch Disney on Ice with my cousin and I was feeling slightly anxious before & even more so now!

But as it says under my avatar, I love Manchester a City United and it won't stop me going!

It will probably be one of the safest cities as police presence will be high again!

Please enjoy the show, I live a stones throw from The Trafford Centre and have family who work in there, I'm always very anxious when I go in there but I will go in as the terrorists just cannot win.

I hope all the injured make a quick recovery.

Why is it always Manchester ?
I know it really isn't.
It just seems away from London it's target number one.
Not that I wish attacks on anywhere else of course.

Just going back to this. Our friend is police officer in Manchester and when we were talking about Fridays events he said it only made the news because it was the Arndale. He said there are stabbings every day in and around Manchester!
Incidently dd16 went into Manchester on Sat with friends to see a show and said it was just like any other day.
I'm of the opinion these idiots will never stop me doing what in would do normally. Obviously I would never put myself or my family in deliberate danger but the risks of travelling round every day in my car are probably higher than being involved in terrorist attacks!
