Just booked my first ever trip to the Lake District!

It’s for next July and it’s a bit of a contrast to this years New York and Orlando but I’m excited! Staying in Coniston

Yew Tree Farm a former home of Beatrix Potter and features in the Miss Potter movie is just outside Coniston , a nice walk if you fancy it.
Grasmere has lovely coffee shop called Baldrys, gorgeous scones and a must visit.

Wherever you go the fabulous scenery will delight you

Love the Lake District, it’s only an hour’s drive for us so do several days out every month. You won’t be disappointed.
My love affair with the Lakes started in Coniston as my school had an outdoor pursuits centre there and I used to go at every opportunity.
The Old Stamp House Restaurant in Ambleside has recently been awarded a Michelin Star and it’s not expensive.

Thanks for the recommendations I’ve wanted to go for a while but it’s a fair trip from Norfolk so we have tended to opt for the Peaks, which I love and I’m sure I’ll feel the same about the Lake District.
Dd is very excited as we can take the dog with us and it seems a very dog friendly destination!

You are in for a treat, it’s a beautiful part of the world.
We are very lucky to live quite close but don’t visit anywhere near enough.

You’ll love it up here. Great place to get away from it all. Gorgeous scenery. Same as stecee we don’t visit out often enough.
