Didn't you like what I did there with the plate reference.

Who is Sade because I wasn't around in the 1950s like you, so I don't know any group that was called Sade (which you probably played on one of those wind up record players I've seen in the movies).

The plate reference went right over my head, Sade she was very big in the 1980s, google Your Love Is King. Being a lot older than me you probably liked Bing Crosby!

Lol. That's more like how many take away curries are made in the UK.

Absolutely, I thought the same thing about where we live... no such thing as a take away

When we lived in the U.K. takeaways were a rarity down to two things costs and quality.

I prefer to cook my own food

Again, I hope the takeaways are fresher than those 5 day old ready meals.

(Of course, there are also frozen ready meals that could've been sat in the freezer for months).

In all honesty I don't think many take away meals are fresher than what I buy from the chiiled cabinet. In my area (Hillingdon), the hygiene ratings for many Indian take aways and restaurants are dire and I wouldn't eat food from them for free.

I trust the hygiene standards from the companies that provide the chilled curries/chinese meals I eat from the likes of marks, far more than I would from an Indian or Chinese restaurant or take away. I also think that the hygiene standards from places like Nandos are generally far higher than the average local Indian/chinese takeaways or restaurants.

Many years ago my wife had a terrible case of food poisoning from a local chinese take away, and she has never eaten another chinese take away ever since.
