Mobile A term time, post uni trip to Salou. October 2019. Day 4, a 15 mile bike ride

Tuesday 8th October

I woke first and sat on the balcony for a while.

We had a fairly late breakfast.

Every year we come we always say we should hire out bikes. I love cycling and although I can’t cycle to work now I always try to go out on the weekend.
We have never got round to it though but as this year was more chilled it was the perfect time to try.
Bus Plana rent bikes but we walked a little further to a cycle shop as they had more choice.
It was €7 for 3 hours or €6 for 2, we went for 3 so we didn’t have to rush.
We cycled along the seafront, it was completely flat and cycle lanes all the way along.
We went through Vilafortuny to Cambrils.
It took about 20/30 minutes.

We could have carried on but decided to turn back as it was getting very warm.

Brilliant cycle lanes

We stopped at a supermarket for a drink and sit down.

We passed lovely hotels but as with La Pineda we would find it too quiet.

Back in Salou

We both really enjoyed it and will do the same again next visit. I would recommend this as a great morning out.It woulds have been nice to have locks though.
Matt checked his phone and we had cycled 15 miles. We returned the bikes and walked back to the hotel and then went to the restaurant for lunch.

It was very hot now so we got changed and relaxed on the sunbeds for the afternoon.

After getting ready we went to the beach bar.

Another lovely evening watching the sunset.
Dinner at the hotel

Entertainment was a dragon acrobatic act which don’t really interest us so we had a couple of drinks in the bar and went to bed.

We both really enjoyed it, Matt said about getting a bike when we got home although its a little different cycling in the rain with cars cutting you up all the time.

That looks a lovely flat bike route, maybe I could even be tempted on there 😀 We were lazing by the pool while you went on the bike ride though. Again, the weather was beautiful that day
