Las Vegas - Caesars Palace, anyone stayed?

Hi

We are going to Las Vegas for a week in October, flights are booked.

We have not booked accommodation yet. We are considering Caesars Palace so would love to hear from anyone who stayed, what was it like? Would you recommend?

Also, any tips for cheap website would be welcome

Thanks

You would get more replies in the West Coast forum. The mods will probably move this for you.
Can't comment on Caesars but looks lovely. Have stayed in Bellagio and Planet Hollywood - love the central location on the strip of these hotels.

I haven't stayed there but i find Caesars just about the worst hotel to navigate.. no matter how many times i visit there i could still get lost it just seems so confusing with very poor signage.

Having recently stopped in a Caesars group hotel (Flamingo) i have to say next time if on the strip i will be going back to MGM properties , Caesars seem more expensive too me when you add on the resort fee, for which you get very little for... at least in a MGM hotel you can access free wifi..

I use Trivago and Caesars seems quite reasonable on my searches there

I've stayed at Caesars twice - it's iconic and is in a great location. But... it is, without question, the most confusing layout of a casino/hotel I know (beating even the Riviera & Imperial Palace/Quad in that category, and that's really going some, trust me). The labrynthine layout caused me headaches throughout (both times) and i'm normally pretty good at working out the orientation of casinos. We stayed in different tower blocks too, so it's not like it's specific to one area either. The above is compounded by the very worst signage in the whole of Las Vegas - without doubt.

If you'e driving, the valet system is the worst in Las Vegas too (and self parking is a nightmare besides) - there are never any spare spaces (so you're constantly confronted with "valet full" signs) and the time to get your vehicle is pretty shoddy too.

The pool area is great - but it gets incredibly busy, because there seems to be an 'open door' policy (we were never challenged for ID upon entering) and punters staying at other places just love to visit Caesars.

Lastly - the rooms are fine but... for the prices charged, i've been distinctly underwhelmed on both occasions. They are much smaller than you'd expect and whilst very functional, they don't have nearly as many amenities as you'd expect for such prices.

Personally - if you have have to stay there, try to make it a night or two (so you can say you've stayed there) but look elsewhere for the rest of the week. For instance - The Venetian/The Palazzo just cross the Strip has a great pool, superb car parking and valet systems, a really simple straightfoward layout, better security around accommodation (you cannot enter the lifts without a room key, likewise if you're entering the beautiful third floor decked pool area) and the standard room (which is, in fact, a suite) is nearly twice the size of a standard Caesars room, better equipped and much nicer to stay in (three TV's, for instance, including one in the bathroom!). And all for pretty much the same price - in many cases, cheaper.

For me, it's a no brainer...

I'm no expert, but I've visited Las Vegas 14 times since 1989 - if you want some advice, feel free to pm me!

I totally agree with Diamonddog2801.

We stayed there last year because my son turned 21 when we were there and it was his choice. We constantly lost each other and took ages to find our room. It took us 20 minutes to walk from where we parked the car to get to the reception area to book in.

It is expensive for what it is. You cant even get a cup of coffee in the morning in your room unless you pay for it. The pool area was mobbed by 10am every day. However the adjoining bathrooms with the huge shower between them was ace!

It is in a great location but we would choose a cheaper hotel next time as we spent hardly anytime there. The clientele appeared to be older in Caesars compared to places like Planet Hollywood.

We were going to stay at Cesears Palace this year after aspiring to it on our past 2 trips, however we have now booked the signature MGM where we are getting a 1 bed suite for the same price as a standard room at CP! That added with the feedback on the layout was enough for us to change our mind and avoid CP.
