Back from Vegas...Highs and Lows!

Well the jet lag is a killer but we have had an absolutely amazing, fantastic time and LOVE Vegas! Think DH prefers it to Florida now

Highs:
SHOPPING! The shopping was just incredible! Easily as good as, if not better than Florida. We bought stuff at the Forum Shops, the Fashion Show Mall and the North Premium Outlets. Easily spent both our allowances (May have stretched them slightly ) best shops were Calvin Klein, Hilfiger, DKNY, Gap and Macy's. Filled an entire large case including 7 new pairs of shoes between us!
The Flamingo Hotel - after a stressful start at check in, they redeemed themselves with free food and drink credit daily, free resort fee (which does include internet access for one device) and a gorgeous room on the 23rd floor with a stunning view! Great for a budget stay!
Cirque de Soleil KA - incredible!
Food - we ate (and drank) like kings! Had great meals every day!
Secret Garden at The Mirage - beautiful up close viewing of the most relaxed big cats I have ever seen!
The vibe of the place in general, very relaxed and laid back! I was a bit worried about the 24/7 drinking/smoking indoors but we only saw maybe a couple of 'drunk' people and you genuinely can't smell the smoke indoors at all...the casinos do a great job of keeping them smelling fresh and clean!
The weather - hot and sunny every day!

Lows:
Not really a low but we wish we'd tried the gambling sooner! It was so much fun but we were only brave enough to try the tables the last few nights.
Would have loved more relaxing time as felt like we spent a lot of time on schedule to make sure we saw all the hotels! We should have slowed down really.
Coming home

Observations:
Not having a car was the right decision for us and definitely wouldn't get one again when we go back (despite always having one in Orlando!). We enjoyed having a few drinks every day and also enjoyed seeing everything, wandering and exploring. We used the monorail once and the Deuce once, both were easy, uncrowded, air conditioned and comfortable.
Location! Again for us we found this very important and now would probably only stay mid-strip. We enjoy walking and staying mid strip means we can access both ends equally easily on foot.
We now just need to work out how quickly we can return!

Glad u had a good time , internet policy must have changed though as it definitely didn't include a device for us because I did check , not that it really mattered .

Now to save to go back again. :-)

I did find the staff info a bit...inconsistent! But checked the bill to be sure! We wimped out of going to the party pool once we saw it stayed at the family pool instead, but it is very busy! We always managed to get 2 loungers together but both said it would be a real struggle for a larger group of people/family. Now I've seen the more glitzy resorts I would like to try somewhere else a bit fancier though...funds permitting!

Thank you for all your planning help

Wicked Spoon buffet was absolutely incredible! Really enjoyed our breakfast buffet at the Flamingo too.
Had lovely evening meals at Cheesecake Factory (never tried the Orlando one!), MGM Grand Buffet and Flamingo Steakhouse.
Also completely developed an infatuation for Panda Express and had the the best burger I've ever tasted at Jonny Rockets!

I found the staff to be useless in most cases lol .

We did manage to get loungers to but I don't think we would have in summer , as you say it's far too crowded .

I looked what I paid for the flamingo and it was almost twice what I paid for NY and planet Hollywood and both are much nicer.

I thought you would like the secret garden :-)

Get saving then :-)

Glad you had a wonderful time My lot were addicted to the orange chicken in Panda express, lol! I actually found it very hard coming on this forum after my holiday It's one of those places where nothing else quite compares! My daughter loved shopping in the Forum shops-some of the deals were plain ridiculous

I too loved the secret garden! It was so peaceful and tranquil. But, I thought they had a nerve trying to sell those picture packages at the end for what they were, lol They were quite costly for the quality, I felt.
