School lunchtime

How long should children have for lunchtime at school? DD is year 8 and gets 30 mins to eat and then 30 mins but that is called PHSE on the timetable. They have cut 30 minutes from the start of school day- just trying to see if other schools done the same, reason is Covid, but getting a bit sick of that excuse now!

DS13 has 40 minutes. The starting and finishing times remain the same as prior to covid.

Our school lunch time starts 12:20 until 13:00 so 40 minutes. This is just enough time to get everyone through.

My 17 year old (still at the sixth form in his secondary school) has 30 minutes, 13.10 - 13.40.

My 12 year old is at a specialist school and has 50 mins altogether. I'm not sure how long to eat but he watches Newsround everyday as part of lunch.

20min break and 30min lunch. Post covid all year groups have different lunch periods/location to go. The lack of whole school queuing/fighting for space took a lot of pressure off the process so it’s something they intend to keep I believe.

Why not discuss it with the Head and the school Governors?
What exactly is your complaint?
