Ocado fraud alert
I was supposed to have a delivery this evening but just after I finished sorting my trolley I received an email to say I'd changed my email address and if I was having problems to ring them.
Straight on phone, Ocado won't do anything because I don't know the new email address. I kept telling them I thought it was fraud. They wouldn't take any other details to verify my details for security . I have to email and wait up to 24 hours for an answer. I can't log in on desktop as I now don't have login details but I have managed to see things on the app. Cheeky wotsits have changed the address (which I can see) and are having a right do - 10 bottles of champagne, benson and hedges and all the makings of a roast. I obviously emailed them straight away but I've had to freeze payment cards etc. I am absolutely livid with them that they did not put a freeze on my account. Just wanted to warn people and see if anyone else has had anything similar.

I had this with my Freemans and Very shopping accounts, that I had only just opened.
The thieves changed my details, delivery address etc then proceeded to order a pile of designer goods It was a real faff trying to sort it all and I had to change all my email addresses and passwords on everything which was a nightmare. I was quite shocked how easy it was for someone to just take over my account with no red flags popping up for the companies. I am now on the identity theft register (CIFAS) due to probably the same people trying to open bank accounts in my name too, so every time I order anything from my Very account or similar, (I closed Freemans) they have to phone me up to confirm it's me. So the hassle has been on going for me Edited at 09:55 AM. |

This happened to me with Amazon. Nightmare to sort out.
Might be worth changing your email password. That’s how they got into my Amazon account. They stopped all email alerts from Amazon. So Amazon we’re trying to warn me off account activity but I did not receive the emails. |

They emailed back to say they can't find me because my email address is not recognised. Yes! I know!
To be honest I'm more annoyed at the company than the fraudsters!

I would be too, a bit of a farce really and does not give confidence in them sorting issues out .
A bit like when I ordered some facemasks from Disney, I ordered a few packs but one was missing when I received them, I went on chat and told them the issue but the guy 'speaking' to me said there was nothing he could do as I could not produce photo evidence of the item missing - erm its missing - I sent a photo of a blank wall and said here is the missing item and asked to speak to the next person up and got it sorted. |

Thank you I will contact the CEO and feedback. 16 hours from discovery to resolve it. Unbelievable really, won't let me speak to a manager to discuss their processes. We will not be giving them any more business.

Wow, I can't believe that they won't let you sort it out!
It happened to me with my Next account. Cheeky buggers ordered loads of designer clothes and trainers to a collection in Bradford. Next were amazing at sorting it all out though. |

Scary this could happen! Don't they have to enter the card security code to complete an order? If so, I'd look at changing the card too.

Not on Ocado if you're just making changes to an order you've already checked out - you only have to do that the first time you check it out. For any changes after that it just goes through.
Tesco introduced extra security a while back so you now have to enter your security code every time you check out your order. I find it a bit annoying to have to do it as I often update my basket several times a day, but it probably stops things like this from happening.
