Said I'd kick it off with a list of musicals that are playing

Musicals

Avenue Q
Showing at Gielgud Theatre as and from the 1st of June. Booking for tickets are from the 10th March. Avenue Q is set in not the most upmarket of New York streets. Princeton, a bright-eyed college graduate, has just moved to this neighbourhood as he desperately tries to follow his dreams and discover his ever-elusive purpose in life. Life may suck on AVENUE Q but being jobless, homeless, politically incorrect, having sex (whether hetero, homo or porno... and that’s just the puppets) are just some of the topics featured in the terrific songs of this show.

Billy Elliot
Showing at Victoria Palace Theatre, Victoria St. Tube stop: Victoria. Based on the popular film Billy Elliot, young Billy is determined to attempt to dance his way to the Royal Ballet despite growing up in a northern town where no one dances

Blood Brothers
Showing at Phoenix Theatre, Charing Cross Road. Tube Stop: Tottenham Court Road. Tale of Liverpudilan twins seperated at birth whos paths dramatically cross again

Hairspray
Showing at Shaftesbury Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue. Tube Stop: Piccadily Circus Tale of Tacey Turnblad who becomes and overnight sensation

Wicked
Showing at Apollo Victoria Theatre. Tube Stop: Victoria.
The story of the Witches of Oz before Dorothy arrived. Fantastic musical and would highly recommend it to anyone

Joseph and his amazing technicolour dream coat
Showing at Adelphi Theatre, Strand. Tube Stop: Charing Cross. The musical surrounding the 12 biblical brothers which features the youngest who is destined for dreamweaving greatness. Gareth Gates is currently playing Joseph.

Les Mis
Showing at Queen's Theatre, Northumberland Ave. Tube Stop: Piccadily Circus Epic tale of survival and persecution during the social and political upheaval of the 19th century France.
One of the world's longest running musicals

Phantom of the Opera
Showing at Her Majesty's Theatre. Tube Stop:Piccadily Circus Romantic musical based on Leroux's gothic novel set in the dramtic bowels of the Paris Opera House.

The Lion King
Showing at Lyceum Theatre. Tube Stop: Covent Garden Hit version of Disney's film.

Oliver
Showing at Theatre Royal Drury Lane. Tube Stop: Covent Garden Musical adaption of Charle's Dickens famous novel. Stars Rowan Atkinson and BBC's Jodie Pronger as Nancy.

Mamma Mia
Showing at Prince of Wales Theatre. Tube Stop: :Leicester Square Story of a young woman and her daughter on the ever of her daughter's wedding. The daughter sets out to find the true identity of her father. Music by ABBA.

We Will Rock you
Showing at The Dominion, Tottenham Court Road. Tube Stop: Tottenham Court Road Set in a futuristic world where rock music is banned by the corporate authorities. Music by Queen.

The Sound of Music

We often get people wanting directions to St Pancras for the Eurostar terminal. Mostly tube is best. Paddington is straight round on the Hammersmith and city line towards Baker Street to Kings Cross St Pancras. Kings Cross is just next door so just follow the signs and walk.

If you are coming into Euston do not take the tube, walk. It is easier.

As you come up from the platform the Food Court is on your left. Walk past that and Smiths next door. After Smiths there is an exit on your left. Take it. That leads to a Terrace. Go across the terrace, down the steps and cross the small road. Walk down to the main road (Euston road). Don't cross but turn left and walk for about 5-10 mins. You will pass some hotels and the British Library. You should eventually reach a side entrance to St Pancras on your left. Follow the signs. There are lifts to all floor.

Just a few tips from my trip:
* If you're going to be there for a few days (we were there for 5) the lovely guy in London underground told us to buy a 7 day oyster card instead of one you just keep topping up. It cost us 28GBP and was certainly a bargain. We used the underground a lot and dreaded to think how much it would have cost up to keep topping up.

*Do Harrod's on a week day as at the weekend its very busy!

People touring London just see the city and the West End. Check out the East End of London as well. Recommend Walthamstow market as it is the longest market in London. Beats Petticoat Lane hands down.

A good way to get around London that is often overlooked are the boats. Thames Clippers do a great service and not only do you get to where you are going but you get a completely different view of London.

If you get a chance go on a Duck Tour. we did one for my Bday last week and it was FAB.

If going to the Tower of london Get there Early and do the Torture chamber and crown jewels ASAP as the Qs get huge latter on.

we are coming to London for wimbledon, not sure if I have done well or not but booked to stay in the Travel Lodge Drury Lane, Covent Garden. What will be the easiest to get to their from Kings Cross when my train gets in and then from Covent Garden to Wimbledon itself. All advice appreciated, London novice

we are really thinking of doing the fat tire bike tour of London. Has anyone done this, if so what did you think? We did one last year in Berlin and had a great time.

I would take the tube (Piccadilly line, dark blue) to Earls Court and change onto the District line (Green). Make sure your train is heading for Wimbledon as the the District line branches out at Earls Court. This is probably your best way in and out of central London, though there are several main line trains stopping there. There is one to Waterloo which I know little about. Covent Garden tube station is on the Piccadilly line. You should go through it as you go to Earls Court from Kings Cross.
Remember the stop for Kings Cross is actually Kings Cross St Pancras. You have to put the full name into the Transport for London journey planner if you use it.

Wimbledon is not too far out, but not that near either. Though fairly easy to get too and from. Wimbledon has some good shopping and a very good regional theatre. There is also a greyhound track on the outskirts of Wimbledon. It is the home of the British Greyhound Racing Association. My mum and dad like racing and we go when they come down. There is no bus to the stadium so it is best to take a taxi. If you are thinking of going try lovethedogs/

While in the east end, take the Jack the Ripper walking tour - fascinating!
