GOLDUSH GATE GADABOUT - Days 12 & 13
Day 12 - Disembarkation day
Up and herded into one of the bars (sadly not open) with around another 40 people who were also doing back to back cruises. Our plan today was to go into Vancouver, have a look around and maybe take Georgia to Stanley Park to burn off some of the food we had eaten over the course of the last week. There had been so few opportunitys to swim and the kids cant use the gym so georgia was starting to get a little stir crazy. However , the weather didnt wanna play the game So we decided we would just stay on and have a relax, maybe get some washing done , and chill until the boat got full again. But first the task of getting off then getting back on again. Ok , i love the disney cruise line and have never really ever moaned about anything , but this morning was a nightmare. Like I said we were all ushered into Studio sea, where we waited. And waited, and waited. Over 2 hrs. No drinks/coffee/ nothing. The kids were running around getting fractious and even though there was a big screen in there it was playing the stupid disembarkation video. They couldve easily put on a movie for the kids at least to have something to look at. Not great disney. A few drinks & a little info wouldve made a difference. Eventually we got walked off and back on again, which was another long drawn out procedure. They asked lotsve questions and I really wanted to answer- look im not getting off the boat, i dont want to visit canada so stick that in your pipe and smoke it. However as we had to get off in vancouver to fly home it probably wasnt such a good idea! Back on the boat we got back into our cabin and did some laundry. Weather was still atrocious but worth going on deck for a bit to watch the planes fly over The rabble soon started to come on and the sailaway party held inside due to the weather, not great, as all the enthusiastic new sailors were desperate for the photographs, so we drank our sailaway cocktails and giggled at the photos we did manage to get We had asked our servers if he could find us some tablemates as we'd dined alone for the first time in the first week and missed the fun of meeting new people. Well they came up trumps. We were joined by a great lady, the aunt of the boats fabulous pianist. She was great company and had travelled all over the world and had loads of storys to tell. Day 13- Sea day Nice quiet day today. It was our second character breakfast , We watched the chip and put golf in the atrium, very competitive. Made use of cove cafe, and moaned about the weather a bit And played some games and drunk some drinks Went to see the naturist who gave a great informative talk in the theatre, absolutely amazing stuff so if you ever do this cruise it is a definite MUST Tommorrow Day 14 - Tracy Arm what its all about ! |

Shame about the back to back process breaking down .. It's so easy to get it right, DCL really shouldn't get it so wrong!

The Wonder looks a bit dull... usually see her gleaming in the sunshine... did the weather effect your time on board?
