Drinks in restaurants/room service

Just a bit confused with this ... apart from alcohol which obviously you pay for are other drinks and water brought to your table/room chargeable ?

Also, are you expected to tip bar staff and how much and how ?

Thanks

There is auto gratuity on every order you make from a bar or a server who is walking around the decks or bars. That auto gratuity is shared amongst the whole food and beverage team.

There is a space under that for you to add a personal tip which only goes to the person serving you. We add a $1 to each order.

In the restaurants (main dining rooms), it's exactly the same for alcohol. Your card has to be swiped, a receipt will be presented to you and it's up to you if you want to add more on.

Soft drinks in the MDRs are free .. I can highly recommend a Shirley Temple !

I’m just curious as I’ve never been on a Disney ship but have been on six different cruise lines - do many people add an additional tip? On the many cruises we’ve been on, I’ve rarely seen people give an additional tip on top of the 15% automatically added. Is the expectation on Disney different?

I can't tell you if it's an expectation or not, I certainly have never felt pressure to add more, but we normally add $1 as the service is, just, top drawer I guess. We add more if we know the server!

My mum has sailed on different lines and she tells me that DCL has the best service of the ones she's sailed with. If you've not sailed DCL though, you don't miss it!
