We’ve cruised the Norwegian fjords with Princess. It’s our favourite cruise line. Next year, the Sapphire Princess will be doing several cruises to the fjords out of Southampton.
Cabins can be made up as double or twin, some have 3 or 4 berths. Anytime dining is also available.

I think that would depend upon the type of cabin you are booking. A standard balcony cabin has a bunk that comes out of the ceiling and I think with that configuration the beds below have to be twins? We had the larger balcony cabin,Superior Deluxe, in this type there is a double sofa bed in the lounge area for the third/ fourth passenger.

We went to the Fjords with P & O last year on the Azura. They sail from Southampton and offer freedom dining, so you are not tied to a time to dine. The only drawback we found with this is as we were a couple, and we didn't want to share a table, we quite often had a 20 minute plus wait for a table.
All in all it was a great cruise and we would sail with P & O again.

We enjoyed our P&O cruise in the Fjords, we have also been on Princess and Celebrity in Northern Europe, not sure if they do Fjords but would have thought so.
My boys did not enjoy the Disney cruise but they have loved all of the others they have been on.
P&O you can eat in the buffet at dinner or do any time dining. We always checked to see what the theme was in the buffet, the Indian night was particularly good.

Thank-you for inspiring me everyone . After having a DCL Fjords Cruise on hold and several days of umming and ahhing over the ridiculous price I have but the bullet and booked a cruise on P&O Azura ... making sure I won’t bump into my beloved Magic en route . 2 cabins , including a balcony , for £1700 less than 1 inside cabin on the magic .

Thanks everyone. When it’s time to book I think we will give P&O a try. Sounds like we will enjoy it x

Good to hear other cruisers have enjoyed their fjords cruises with P&O, they do seem a popular cruise line so I don't think we could go far wrong

Re: flexible dining, we're not seasoned cruisers as yet but all the cruise lines we have booked with so far we have been able to select an option so that we are not tied to a set dining time, I'm presuming P&O will have a similar option?

What time of year are you thinking of, Moodyblue?
We have our first cruise booked on the Britannia to the canaries in October and have booked freedom dining. When you book you get access to a personal planner and it has all your options on it. I initially booked set dining when I booked but changed it on my planner after having second thoughts, I have also booked our excursions having read they were going to be available 12 weeks prior to travel ours were available 8 months out!
