Thanks everyone for your replies. I have decided that I am more than happy with our cruise. We were going to pay full prices and then were able to book the cruise with kids free offer which was why we could afford a verandah room. I am not going to look to see all of the people getting upgrades as it just winds me up. Sometimes you can know too much.

i think this is the best attitude to have Joanne, on every holiday there will be people in the very same room as yourself that have paid less, frustrating i know but it happens
and as for the excursions, Disneys are notoriously overpriced and with a little reasearch i'm sure you could do these ports and find activities for yourselves for a lot less money, not sure which ports you are going into but over on the dover to barcelona thread we have already started to research some of the ports like cadiz, cherbourg, lisbon and gibraltar perhaps some info on that thread maybe helpful? i'm certain you will still have a great cruise, happy planning |

and as others have said, don't worry too much about the excursions we did a med cruise last summer and didn't do the cruise excursions. In most places we tried out the 'hop on hop off' buses (City tours) and loved them, gave us a good basic way of exploring cities for the first time x

Forget the shore excursions .. take any children along to the clubs, then go and keep the bar staff busy at the adult pool and bar!
Bahama Mama anyone?!

We didnt book any excursions and were glad we didnt. We enjoyed the boat and the kids didn't want to get off anyway as they were too busy in their clubs. The clubs are the best we have seen anywhere, so much going on all the time.
Our dining partner family had booked to go to Atlantis and paid a fortune and it was cold and windy in the Bahamas and they really regretted it. We left our kids on board and had a walk around Nassau on our own for a couple of hours. Woo hoo! Castaway Cay has plenty to do for a day, you really dont need to do the trips. The kids went off in their clubs (I could get used to this) and we enjoyed a day of peace to ourselves. |
