Day room at Hyatt after cruise?

We are flying back the day we dock in November and are just going to get a day room at the airport to use the pool chill out etc

Two questions:
Do I need to book it or can I just show up?
We will be 3 adults and a 17 yr old - can I get away with one room as we won't really be sleeping in it?

Thanks

I emailed the Hyatt (Twice) for our day rooms there, it is a big hotel and you should be ok, but a lot depends on people coming and going, ie overnight when do they check out and when people are booked and going to turn up that night. With it being on airport there is always the chance of a plane failure or bad weather and suddenly all rooms are booked for people left in transit.

A year or so back we got it for $75 bit its more now, we were off cruise at 7.30am in MCO by just before 9.00am they had our room booked by email, and we were on the rooftop pool by 9.15am.

I wouldn't risk it, lots of people coming off a cruise, a lower percentage will have late evening flights. But a bit of travel disruption could use all free rooms up in a moment.

You only need one room, its a base, and you can chill out at the pool, or go shopping, and as well as a bed there were chairs for us and TV etc.

I had it for my last Florida cruise, but as I am off to Alaska now and Med next year deleted it. I found it on their own website, something like 'Contact us' section.

I told them I was from the UK and preference email to call and they were ok about it.

Just googled it:-

Tabz, just so you're aware ... you will need a room card to use the lifts past reception level. So if you do have an extra bod or two, you'd need to go down and get them with a room card ok .. They couldn't just sneak up once you've checked in.

Hi,
I booked a day room last November after our cruise with 9to5 and we had no problems, I did it online, I got a reference number and then on the day you just go to the reception with your credit card and they take payment, I think it was something like £69.00 if I remember rightly.
It was great having the room as it is a very long day from the moment you leave the cruise to the evening flight.

We booked through 9to5 and it was exactly the same rate as the hotel.
...you don't need to worry about 'sneaking' the extra person in - we openly took 2 teens and they never batted an eyelid. Most hotels in the US charge by the room , not per person anyway.

Did a review of our experience ...I'll see if I can find it for anyone who hasn't seen it before..
