GOLDRUSH Day 17- Ketchikan & Golden Eagles

Last of our excursions today, and it was a boat ride to find some golden eagles



All good, but probably the least favourite of our excursions on this cruise.

Heres the photos we got, I was quite impressed with myself with a couple, and we got some lovely hot chocolate and food on the boat, guys were great.


The biggest spoiler was an awful woman (american off the ship with her boyfriend/hubby) who for some reason took a dislike to Georgia. She stood in front of her to the point of ridiculousness as she was looking through the binoculars. She tutting and commented loudly constantly that what was the point in fetching a child on this excursion.

I think Georgia annoyed her as she is very competitive and wanted to be the first to point out an eagle and kept saying "theres one" for the first 10 minutes.
She wasnt loud or ridiculously excited but I guess some people have aversions to children, and I soon got myself a serious aversion to this snotty young woman who thought she was the bees knees in her pink north face jacket and designer snow boots.

Georgia actually DID spot the first eagle, which aggravated the grotbag even more.

We got hot drinks and food and a running commentry of the history of the totem poles and the settlements in the area. Georgia liked the young guy who gave her extra salmon paste and chatted to her for a bit so at the end of the trip, i put $10 into their tip jar and georgia pulled her little purse out and give him a bit extra, hahahah what a good dibber huh?



Nice trip but we wouldnt do it again.

Wow, I love golden eagles, great to be able to see them. We were lucky enough to spot a few bald eagles when we were in florida on a swamp tour
