Mobile UPVC Windows

Morning all

We are currently looking to replace the windows in our house and have what I consider quite a high quote of £6500 for 10 windows.
Has anyone a had a recent quote or had theirs replaced would you mind sharing what the cost was with me?
The quote we have had is with a local private team that replaced our roofline and doors, which were reasonably priced.

Jane

We had 2 doors, 2 bay windows, 5 doubles, 2 singles there are 10 openers we had triple glazed units as well ( I would recommend ) that was £8500 in the north west.

Have the triple glazed units eliminated all external noise when they're closed also did you notice any difference with heat retention?

I'm on a main arterial road and want to cut down as much outside noise as I can.

I'm in the South west and had 5 double glazed upvc windows done last month (1 x single unit, 2 x double unit, 2 x triple unit) and that cost £2100 with a local firm.

We only brought them for noise reduction, we are very exposed. We live in Lancashire and on a clear day can see mount snowdon. The heat retention is better then our old double glazed units.

OP. So difficult to say if a quote is high or low as the price is somewhat determined on size but more so on the number of sashes and/or fanlights.

Each opening window is adding in hinges, more uPVC and all the locking mechanisms and handle(s). Thats where the cost lies.

Is there another local company that can quote on the same spec?

seems very expensive to me.
In our refurb. we paid £11,000. This included a very specialist triple track aluminium sliding door with a huge apex widow above (over £6K alone), a big top end electric, insulated garage door (over £1500); composite front door, PVC back door and seven normal PVC windows.
We have friends just got their whole house done for £2700. This was a fairly substantial 4 bedroom house (think it was nine windows and composite front door). To be fair this was from a friend (who also quoted £10k for mine but builder wanted to use their own supplier as this was part of our contract) - but even so, he didn't lose money at that price.

Nobody on here can tell you if the quote is expensive without knowing the size of the windows, how many vents you want in them and the quality of them. You need to get at least 3 to 4 quotes so that you can make the comparison.

I think that is inexpensive. Just counting up my windows and I think it is 10 or 11, a mixture of sizes and we paid £10k in 2015. Ours are cottage style, a bit like this (we didn't use this company).
