Mouse keeping.

Great to be back on the WDW forums, it’s been 3 years since I was last here!
Just a quick question as I’m out if the loop! What is the opting out of mouse keeping? Does it mean you just don’t have your room cleaned? Is there any benefits?

$10 per night of your stay (Excluding first night) loaded onto a gift card for you. You can I believe also pay for a one off clean during your stay if required and of course simply ask for more toilet rolls, towels etc. Not available at deluxe resorts however

You get money back on a gift card (via email), it was 13 day’s back for. 14 day stay, your room is still checked and you can ask for towels, toilet rolls, sheets etc as needed. Our bins were also still emptied as normal.

You can request a full turndown service which costs $10 if you want.

It's down to personal choice, I was quite happy to pull a quilt cover up, $10 for about 10 secs "work", ok maybe a bit longer smoothing the sheets and fluffing the pillows etc. happy to phone up for toiletries' whereas others prefer to come back to a ready made bed and maybe a towel animal etc.

I always feel obliged to tip mousekeeping so saved a bit more on top but no "right choice" as i said it's up to you to choose what works for you.

As I was cleaning the bathroom today I vowed we would definitely not be opting out of housekeeping! I considered it for $140 but I like a clean room and coming back to the beds made and towels etc replaced.

We opted out, I wasn't sure as the last thing I wanted to do on holiday is housework!

However we didn't make a mess in the room or bathroom that really required cleaning and all I had to do was straighten the sheets. We called for more coffee etc. Was happy we opted out in the end as it meant no housekeeping knocking on the door disturbing us!

We did this at Pop last year and I can’t say we missed a daily mousekeeping visit, the gift voucher was much appreciated.

They were really responsive to requests. We asked for more coffee and after a brief detour to the food court, it beat us to the room.
