If the booking is say within the next 2 months that would be understandable, there would have to be some kind of lead time for them.
In my case the reservation is 455 days away and only made 3 weeks ago, so it's a bit harder to understand why someone booking now gets the option and we wouldn't.

I would imagine it's a technical/software reason (ie, to modify the system to permit the option to choose these for existing bookings is more work than Disney want to take on), not a business one (ie we don't want to permit those already booked to change).

Where are you finding the option to upgrade? I've gone on the website and onto our plans, on our magic bands I only have the option for solid colour. Am I looking in the wrong place. I'm too invested in this! 😂

Same here, no option to upgrade to anything currently.

I think the suggestion is that no one with an existing booking has the option to upgrade.

Certainly on my two bookings - one with Disney UK and one with Disney US, I only have solid colour options still.

I would be very disappointed if this was the case. If they were doing that then it should have been advertised as 'new bookings only' 🙁
As it didn't say new bookings I think the majority of people would assume they would be able to upgrade 🙁😭 I've got my eye on the one Minnie bows😂

Sadly thats the point...it doesn't seem available to bookings already created sadly.

I got so excited I could upgrade them 😭 but still solid colours for me.
I’d just like them for my daughters, they want fancier ones anyway so thought it would be a nice surprise if they picked them up like that
