Upgrading
We have the 14 day ultimate tickets through ATD.
How much would it be for an upgrade to APP? Last yr my friend was working at Disney and she bought our souviners at 40% off (xmas discount). I love shopping at Disney and wonder if the upgrade would save us some $$$. I know we would only get 20%. |

I have been thinking about it and read that it will be the difference between what you paid and the full AP price. I thought discounts were 10%.

Yeah I think its 10% off in most places. If you are just factoring in discounts then it probably isn't going to work out much. You can get some great bargains by shopping off site at Character Warehouse rather than directly in the parks. This usually saves more. However what you can factor in is parking costs as the AP will save on parking so thats $25 a day at least (will probably increase soon if other Disney prices are anything to go by) and then discounts on food. As others mentioned, prices increased yesterday so its now looking a bit more expensive than before. When I looked last week I had worked out it was cheaper than purchasing another 14 day ticket but with the $200 increase I guess its going to be slightly more. If you aren't going to Disney again in the next 12 months though this might not be very economical. Its best to try and work out approx how much you might save so for example:
However if this is more like you then you would save some money or break even
Of course if you are lucky enough to be travelling again in the next 12 months then you would also save the price of another 14 day ticket so this would make this very economical. It just depends on what your spending habits are like. Ours are more like version one but I am going back next May so in September I think it still works out OK to upgrade.
