Compensation query.
Who would be eligible to claim for delayed departure compensation, the person who paid for the tickets or the passengers who travelled?

I believe it's the travellers. I know people who have claimed on business travel before.

My parents received EU compensation for a cancelled flight last year. There were 6 of them travelling, including my sister, her husband and their boys. My dad paid for all the flights as a gift so essentially the money was all his, but because my sister and her family were passengers on the booking, they had to send a signed email to BA to advise that they wanted the money to go to my dad, or the money would have gone to them, and have to be paid individually per person.

It should be the passengers as it is compensation for a delay

The airline will try to firstly deny it unless they speak to the payer, but just tell them it's none of their business and it is you that has the claim.
They will most likely then come up with many other reasons why it is a valid claim before eventually paying |
