She can have you there, but no doctor worth their salt would prescribe a class C drug to an adult (in the terms of "medical consent") without speaking to them and going through their alternative options first.

Who said I was offended? Not me; not sure how my question gave the impression of offence?

I replied to a thread you posted on a public forum.

I would guess its due to the fact that doctors are no longer allowed to prescribe a whole list of medications for what are considered minor issues and travel sickness is one of those on the list.

If you have no luck then it may be worth asking a private gp if they can help

My OH was given Diazepam for a flight a couple of weeks back, with no fuss (well, not that he mentioned!). He is on anti anxiety medication anyway (for medical issues) and went to see his usual doctor face to face. I'm not sure what strength they are but I'm hoping they are 2mg after reading this thread and not any more!

ETA: my OH was not given the Diazepam for travel sickness and i guess that might be the difference here.

Good luck - I hope you manage to get something to help your daughters anxiety.

I will answer again, Yes I think it’s ok to ask the question about my daughter (not a child) about medicines on a Disney forum. There is general trip planning, special needs and chat which cover my question. So to your question Yes is the answer!

Have you tried Avomine? It really helped me for travel sickness and anxiety

I don't usually advocate lying to kids but if the doctor says a flat out no then it may just help, her thinking she has something to keep her calm.
My mother did this with my brother. She gave him herbal vitamin pills and told him they were travel sickness pills. He always fell asleep claiming that the pills made him drowsy. OP, if my DD was that upset about flying I don't think I would take her. If she really wants to go then maybe a fear of flying course or CBT could help.

It could be because it’s not a long haul flight and there would be no time for it to wear off ? As my gp asked me this when I got some for this holiday .
