I'd say never even in "normal" circs however defo not before s Florida holiday - you'd risk putting it all back on and likely more in 2 weeks.
Not worth sacrificing your health over.

OP
if you clean up your diet straight away in 6 weeks you could lose 12 lbs.
Make sensible choices and drink 3lts of water daily.
Move more.

I am a size 18/20 and this is my best thing to wear in the parks.
Not to tight, nice and airy (quick to dry off)
I have the green and black one and wear them a lot in Florida.

Why don't you watch some YouTube videos of clothing hauls from people a similar size to you. There are plenty of plus size try on hauls it gives you an idea of what the clothes look like on a real person.

I’m a 20-22 and bought some linen shorts from next for our 2016 trip and they still fit me, I wear them with loose fitting vest tops, and baggy t shirts a size bigger as I can’t stand things being tight. I also bought some doubt layer cami tops from Asda for £6 and they are so flattering and comfy. I’ve got loose flowery shorts from yours and some chub rub shorts for under dresses should I chose to wear them. I fitted in everything last year including FOP which I was really worried about.

Everyone out there even the size 10’s will be hot and sweaty (take baby wipes, keep them in the fridge, they work wonders in the parks go mop your neck & in between your boobs &#128514

I would suggest checking your shorts are comfortable when you walk. I can’t wear loose shorts as they climb up my legs. I prefer heavier ones that stay in place.

M&S do a range of above the knee linen skirts. I buy a couple every year and wear with a range of cotton t-shirts.
They are very comfy and you get a bit of air to keep you cool.

Mantaray in Debenhams have a lot of nice tunic tops , many on sale now and very pretty . Something with a slight pleat at the front will allow the top to flow/drape over your tummy . I have chubby knees and avoid shorts prefering to wear cropped bottoms . This is a top I bought earlier this year ... not available online in larger sizes but maybe in store . debenhams/webapp/wcs...54010423145_-1

I am a size 22, I love quacker factory cut-off (from QVC), very comfortable. I like loose t-shirts (100% cotton).

I like swim skirts and tankini when around the pool

Shape can make a difference too. My legs are very muscly but not thin though not huge either. I do, however, carry a little too much round my middle. I wear shorts with a slim leg and elasticated waist. Then pop a longer T-shirt on top. If I wear wide leg shorts, I just look bigger.
