Isn’t Epcot’s 40th anniversary in 2021? Along with Disney World’s 50th anniversary the same year? I’d be amazed if Spaceahip Earth was closed at that point in time.

It would suprise me with the change to Illuminations coming next year if it is taken down before the new firework show is back up and running. Haven't heard how long the fireworks will be down for but they would want that to be back up I feel before then. Also when is Guardian's scheduled? I clearly need to work out timings better

The new fireworks show starts the day after the final night of IllumiNations.

40th isn't until October 2022 - so actually being closed until 2022 might tie in with re-opening for that.

not before time, its hardly a glimpse of the future

for some its "iconic" but to others it an aged creaky glimpse of 1977...

They should update the ending on Carousel of process as that was last updated in the 90’s.

Spaceship Earth is not supposed to be a glimpse of the future. It shows the history of communication. And the history of communication doesn't change.

The only bit that showed a glimpse of the future was the added "game" at the end that you played on the screens when descending backwards. This feature sort of ignored the whole communication aspect of the attraction and instead showed flying cars, trips into space and that sort of thing.

I still much prefer the old version of spaceship earth as it seemed to connect better than the new one. I think people assume as it looks futuristic it should be the future that its looking towards whereas its a certain aspect of the world - communication! I personally love it!

It's WDW's 50th in 2021 though and I'd be surprised if it were closed for that.
