Mobile First trip , advice needed please .

So we are a family of 5 (2 ad, 13,11&8) booked to go to Orlando in 6 months time staying in a villa in Davenport .
We arrive on Sat 19th May and have booked one night at RPR for 20th to get folps for Universal. However I’m now wondering if we’ll need these as I’ve read it may be quiet then .
Can anyone more experienced in these matters offer any advice please ? I’m feeling completely overwhelmed with it all and don’t know what to do for the best 😩

Went to Universal between the 21st and 28th of May. We didn't buy any express passes and found we didn't need then. Our first visit was Sunday the 21st of May to Universal and pretty much everything was a walk on, even Kong. Minions always had a long ish queue of about 30 mins and the Hulk could sometimes get up to 35 minutes. But overall we were glad we hadn't bought the express passes or stayed in a hotel to get them.

The train was usually a walk on. The two main rides were usually 10-20 minutes, but the queues moved quickly and there was lots to look at in the queues.

We were there for the end of June this year, so basically 4th July weekend. We stayed off site at the Holiday Inn which is cheap and cheerful, within a 15 minute walk to Universal parks. We didn't have Folp and went on every ride we wanted, including all the HP ones, and didn't queue more than 30 minutes for anything, some were walk ons including Forbidden Journey once. Of course, this can vary from day to day and it is always nice to stay onsite but we had no problems when we were there 😊
