I would also avoid the whole of Thanksgiving week from the weekend before to the weekend after. It is very busy. We usually go just after Thanksgiving and it is much quieter.

Look at the live wait times at the moment and that will put you off. MK was showing 9.9 yesterday which is crazy crowds.

To be fair to Orlando the date for Thanksgiving has been fixed for many many years; if the OP wants to avoid Thanksgiving for their honeymoon there is a very simple fix. Move the date of the wedding - its still 2 years away so a few weeks either way shouldn't make a difference

I wish it was as simple as you’ve made it sound but with a venue that’s fully booked for the whole of 2019 already my only option is to move the honeymoon, not the wedding!

Sorry, but all the staff on monday told me that we were lucky to be going home as they were expecting capacity crowds at the Disney hotels in the next few days

Yup, that’s when we have booked 29th November - 12th December, but 2018!

We’re here now. It’s busy but manageable (mind you, we haven’t been to the MK for a few days). We’ve been able to do 99% of what we have wanted to do thanks to Fast Pass but no chance of repeat rides in a standby line, even in EMH. The worst has been the queues for Starbucks and the loos. DHS has been bad too with the headliners getting to 150 mins within 30 mins of park opening. For the first time ever, we’re going to have to buy the Universal fotl passes.

However, we’re here Weds-Weds so had some lovely quiet parks when we arrived and hoping for the same just before we leave.

We stayed onsite a 3 years ago and we arrived on the Saturday after Thanksgiving and found our week in Disney was really manageable - apart from MVMCP - it was so busy! We found the Universal parks really quiet in our second week. We loved the dining plan, with it just being the 2 of us we had some lovely romantic meals.
