Universal & IOA for 10 year old

Just booked a cheeky week away for May half term next year (Yay! ). Taken DD twice before but she's only done Disney up til now, so thinking of doing Universal & IOA this time, but not been myself for over 10 years, so looking for any tips or must do's, especially Harry Potter stuff
TIA

Try to get to the HP areas early and try some spells, my DD is 10 and enjoyed that but it was better when the park was quiet as a bit more room to move around and the cast members could help out more easily. My DD also loved the horror makeup show- so try to go along to that.
The Raptor encounter is good, but my DD was petrified! My husband and I thought it was great though.
