Mobile Last minute change of plan

we weren't planning on going to Universal Studios as the expense of tickets and a room for front of line passes was more than I was prepared to pay. But my need to see Harry is great so last week we booked tickets and 3 nights at the Rosen Inn International. So no fast passes or early entry but 4 days dedicated to universal plus we can pop back from Disney if we miss anything.

I'm hoping by going in / out rather than trybig to fit everything into one long day we can still have a good time without the FOTL. passes.

Are evenings quieter? I like the idea of arriving about 3 And staying late.

2015 we did a week at HRH so spent quite a bit of time in the parks in the evening. Certainly was quieter even on the bigger rides.

Definitely quieter in the evening, and parking used to be reduced too, now I think it's free? Have a look at the cinema/meal deal if you're thinking about having a meal on City Walk: it doesn't have to be on the same day.

Yes the Harry Potter areas are quieter and much more atmospheric at night. Definitely plan on going in late afternoon when many day visitors are leaving and stay until close.

We've frequently gone after 6pm due to it being cooler and quieter. Car parking used to be cheaper but is now free after this time.

We were there 3 weeks ago and found queues were shorter before 11am or in the evening. We stayed offsite so had no early park access or FOLP.
We walked straight onto FJ around 9.45am, same with Kong. Transformers was a walk on on the evening as was Spiderman. We did not queue longer than 20 minutes for any ride and the only ride we didn't manage as queues were over an hour at all times was Minions but we aren't big Minion fans so we didn't mind missing this.
