Thanks. Every Apple device I've managed to get access to always seems to work but whenever the issue arises it seems to only effect them... Will hopefully get to the bottom of it soon

And there was me hoping for under £300. I'll try again tomorrow.
Yes, my experience too. Booked car ages ago and got a good price through Alamo Brits. However, thought to amend and extend, picking up a couple of days earlier, but they're looking crazy money.

Do prices tend to fluctuate widely or will it only go up from now on in? If that's the case, will just have to stick to original rental.

I got mine from 10-24th Nov via British Airways car hire for £300 and that with a second driver via the flying club as well. I couldn't find anyone to beat them. I think its AVIS though for that.

Avis (via the BA site) certainly seems to be (by far) the cheapest for me as we need 2 drivers.

Over the years I have usually booked up to 11 months in advance, and cancelled and re-booked, but it has taught me to wait until around late September early October (we always go in Nov) when the price has a significant drop, it will have to fall from the sky at the moment before I book

I'll hang on and see what happens, just did another check and today it is £643!

I've booked a convertible for 3 weeks in November for £650. Just checked and it's now £1200!
