50 minutes between flights?

So BA just made a time change on our way back.
Now we land at 06.30 (TPA-LGW) instead of 07.50, and our flight back to Amsterdam is at 11.00. (all BA so the same terminal).

I'm thinking of changing the 11.00 flight to the 07.20 flight (if BA lets me do this).
But that means we only have 50 minutes for the connection.
What would you do? Or just wait for 4,5 hours?

I'm not sure whather 50 minutes would be within the minimum connection time in Amsterdam.

Looking on the black side, I suppose if you miss the connection, you will be rebooked onto the next available aircraft. You could always ring BA and see if there are any other alternatives as it is BA which have changed the original flight.

I had myself a very short connection time in Man (around an hour) and as it was booked as 2 separate flights then I would have been scuppered if I missed the leg - it was a close thing as my flight landed late. All it takes is for a small delay, I'd do as Katie advises and ring BA.

The problem is that you have to clear immigration then go back through all the security checks so doubt very much both you & your luggage will make the flight in 50 mins. 2 years ago we were an hour & half late into LGW, whilst they held our Glasgow connection ( probably because there were at least 30 people on the flight) not one of us had any luggage on arrival & the promise that it would be coming up on the next days flight was complete tosh! 3 days later!

I had a 2/30 min connection yesterday we were delayed 2/59 mins and not a happy bunny BA booked us on a1/20 flight from Heathrow which would have given us exactly 40 mins to clear immigration collect our bags and then get the bus to Heathrow nope that's not happening so they had to put us on stand by for the 5and 7/35 flight eventually got in at 10pm last night as I was a single traveler families got priority
Which I was fine by but a £10 meal voucher was way not enough for 7hours

Can you claim compensation due to the delay under the EU rules?

If BA don't think you can make the connection, they won't book you on that flight, so it's worth asking. But you need to take into consideration if you are delayed. I have connected in Heathrow in less than a hour, but obviously that's a bit different. Also, BA wanted me to pay £150 per person to change my flight.

If you're connecting at LGW and are in the same terminal, they suggest a minimum 60 minutes connection time and 90 minutes for transferring to another terminal.

I did ring a few days ago, and they didn't want to put me on the flight.
So we will be waiting 4,5 hours
Probably look into the Lounges
