There is a code on the key fob. Sometimes it's also on the bar code on or near the drivers door pillar.

If you look at the sticky above it gives you all of them. Also you can Google them for each company e.g.

ECAR Sub compact
CCAR Compact
MVAR Minivan
ICAR Intermediate
FCAR Fullsize
SCAR Fullsize 2dr
PCAR Premium
LCAR Luxury
SFAR SUV

Noted for next trip, thanks Tom.

So far Alamo and Virgin seem pretty receptive to this issue, therefore hope we'll come to some form of happy conclusion

Alamo normally point you towards the labelled row, but the usuallly stickers on them with codes that tell you about the car class too.
toprentacar/useful-art...sipp-code-mean

For example FCAR, SCAR, SFAR

Edit: just realised this has been said already.

Just to add, I was pointed to this row as I initially enquired about an Audi Q8 they had in the next row, but the guy told me no and pointed me back to the other row (I suspect he mixed it up as it was just Nissan Rogue's and some Jeep thing with huge off-road wheels, very small selection compared to other visits).

I'll certainly be checking the codes next time .. although not sure if they just allocate a vehicle at Fort Lauderdale?

Can't agree more, hateful system, so bad that Nissan have given up trying to do 4wd versions.

Take your rubber bands and shove them...
